Hot Cross bun with a fried egg 

Ingredients: 

  • Food Lovers Market olive oil 
  • 1 garlic clove, finely grated 
  • Hot cross bun, split 
  • butter softened 
  • Egg 

 Method: 

  • Heat half the oil in a frying pan  
  • Meanwhile, toast the hot cross bun and spread the cut sides with the butter 
  • Fry the egg in the remaining oil until cooked to your liking

 

Hot Cross bun French toast

Ingredients: 

  • 3 eggs 
  • milk 
  • 1 tsp cinnamon 
  • 6 hot cross buns 
  • butter 
  • yogurt 
  • blueberries (any berries) 
  • syrup 

 

Method: 

  • Whisk together the eggs, milk, and cinnamon in a shallow bowl 
  • Add the buns, turn to coat in the mixture, then leave to soak for 5 mins 
  • Melt half the butter in a nonstick frying pan over a medium heat 
  • Fry half the buns for 2 mins on each side, until golden, then repeat 
  • Serve your French toast buns with the yogurt, fruit, and a drizzle of syrup  

 

Cream & Jam Hot Cross bun 

Ingredients:  

  • 150ml double cream 
  • hot cross buns, toasted 
  • 2/4 heaped tsp raspberry jam 

 

Method:

  • Whip the cream  
  • Take the hot cross buns and spread 1 heaped tsp jam onto the base of each, then add cream
