WOMAN POWER, TEAMWORK, COURAGE AND LOYALTY HELPS PROTECT OUR COMMUNITIES’ NEEDS
In the face of the violent and disturbing looting that took place in KwaZulu-Natal in July, one of our colleagues and her team really stood out for their courage. FreshStop received this letter from a customer, Saaleha Seedat, explaining the situation:
“Hloniphile Ngcobo, Store Manager at FreshStop at Caltex Clairwood, situated on the South Coast Road in Durban, ensured the safety of the site with dedication and commitment. She was the driving force behind boosting employee morale during the devastating events of that week.
Throughout it all, the FreshStop and Caltex teams reported to work every day and night and took it upon themselves to stand guard amid a very violent environment, and burning neighbourhoods and businesses in close proximity. As a result of their bravery and perseverance, the FreshStop at Caltex site on South Coast Road is one of the few businesses still standing in the area.
We will forever be grateful and indebted to Hloniphile and the rest of the team for their loyalty, support and courage during a “disastrous week”.
