One of the longest family-run businesses in Barberton opened its new FreshStop convenience store at FreshStop at Caltex Task Nissan Barberton on Thursday morning, 29 March 2018 at 119 de Villiers Street in Barberton. Desire van der Hoven and her family have owned this Caltex fuel forecourt since 1964 and last year they started upgrading the site with the installation of new fuel pumps and tanks.
According to Desire van der Hoven, Store Retailer, “After 54 years on this site with an unbranded store, we thought it was way past time to completely renovate and upgrade our store and introduce the FreshStop brand. This will be the first FreshStop store in the area and it will be open 24-hours a day, 7 days a week. We are especially excited about the new Crispy Chicken outlet and our self-service Lavazza coffee station”.
FreshStop at Caltex Task Nissan Barberton offers its customers an exciting range of fresh fruit and vegetables, grocery items, and Grab ‘n Go snacks such as freshly-made sandwiches, pies and refreshments. In addition, a Capitec ATM is also available on-site.
Another positive is that several new jobs have been created in the FreshStop store and on the Caltex fuel forecourt. “We have been serving the community for two generations and providing excellent customer service as well as being involved and supporting local community events. We are so excited to take on this amazing opportunity and to be able to give back even more to the community,” adds Desire.
We wish Desire, her family and team all the best for the opening of this 274th FreshStop at Caltex Task Nissan Barberton store.
FreshStop, named International Convenience Retailer of the Year 2013 and finalist of the 2017 International
Convenience Retailer of the Year Award, is South Africa’s fastest growing 24-hour convenience store brand and has a network of 274 stores countrywide.
