1 October 2020 – FreshStop at Caltex, the largest and fastest-growing convenience store retail brand in South Africa, opened its 330th store on the corner of Pretoria and Delmas Roads (R25 and R50) in Bapsfontein, Gauteng on 1 October 2020. A popular meeting place for cyclists and weekend motorbike enthusiasts, this landmark site has been upgraded and now boasts a brand new FreshStop store.
August and Marle Fleischman, who themselves lived in Bapsfontein for 10 years and remain close to the community, own and operate the site, and run it as a family business with their son, Stefan. An accountant by profession and part-time pecan nut farmer, August Fleischman is very excited about the opening of the FreshStop store. “We cannot wait for the opening. We’ve done takeaways over the years but we knew we would need to do more, so we decided to join the FreshStop brand. We are extremely excited to show our loyal and new customers our new food offerings and quality products and services,” says Fleischman.
In addition to FreshStop Bapsfontein’s range of fresh fruit and vegetables, selection of grocery items and many convenient, on-the-go snacks and refreshments; the store will now offer Crispy Chicken and Grill to Go outlets, hot takeaways, as well as a full Barista-service House of Coffees coffee bar. For extra convenience, an on-site ABSA ATM and in-store Cash Express machine are available for customers.
As a result of the upgrade, FreshStop Fourways has grown its staff complement by almost 10 employees who travel a great distance to work from Daveyton, Putfontein and outlying areas to serve their customers.
