Everything at the new FreshStop at Caltex Safari Motors store in Louis Trichardt is bigger and better! The store has doubled in size, 15 new jobs have been created, six new food brands have been introduced, there’s free wifi, an indoor and outdoor seating area, four ATMs on-site, as well as a Boardroom that local businesses can hire – the list just goes on and on! The previous FreshStop store was completely knocked down and rebuilt and the brand new FreshStop at Caltex Safari Motors officially opened its doors on Thursday, 1 March 2018 at 54 Hlanganani Street in Louis Trichardt to much excitement.
This family-run business has invested in the community by bringing in the best of the FreshStop products, services and branded food lines offering to its community. Alma Goetsch, the Store Retailer, who runs the business with her husband Geoff, explains, “My Dad owned this site for more than 16 years and seven years ago he started up one of the first FreshStop stores in the country. Four years ago Geoff and I took it over and decided to refresh the brand and go BIG so that we could offer only the best in food brands, products and services to our local residents and commuters”.
“I grew up in the fuel retail business and I’m using the skills learned to provide our customers with the best across the board. Our Caltex fuel forecourt has grown in size and offers much more parking, which includes a special parking spot for busses, and our pumps now offer all the fuel products so that commuters don’t have to wait for the right product at a certain pump. Our store has also doubled in size so that we can cater to every single individual, young or old; and our Seattle Coffee offering is beyond comparison,” says Alma.
In addition to the usual range of fruit and vegetables and selection of grocery items, FreshStop Safari Motors now boasts Crispy Chicken, Grill to Go, Hot Dog Bar, Doughnut Delite and Avalanche ice-cream / frozen yoghurt outlets in-store. There is also a full-service Seattle Coffee bar with Barista and an indoor and outdoor seating area to enjoy the selection of takeaway meals. “We have free wifi in-store and offer our customers a warm and friendly atmosphere, a Boardroom that we rent out to businesses, Reverse Osmosis water refills 24-hours a day, and the four on-site ATMs (Standard Bank, ABSA, FNB, and Capitec) tops it all off,” says Alma.
Staff numbers have increased to meet customer demand with 15 new jobs having been created from the local community. “We are very excited and think it’s going to be a life-changing experience for everyone visiting the store. We have friendly staff and the whole atmosphere is so much better than what we had and we personally think it’s the nicest store in South Africa,” adds Alma.
