Previously a Star Mart, the site has undergone extensive renovations that include a new concrete floor replacing the paving on the fuel forecourt, new tanks and new quad pumps to double the capacity of fuel volume underground as well as the latest in 20/20 Caltex imagery. According to Garth Ally, the Store Retailer, “This is a new and exciting store offering a variety of great products and an amazing customer shopping experience and we are extremely excited and absolutely couldn’t wait to open. We offer great personal service because we are a family-owned store and customers can expect shopping comfort in a clean, new environment.
FreshStop at Caltex Bell MT offer residents and commuters a variety of fresh fruit and vegetables, a wide selection of grocery items and freshly baked pies, sandwiches and confectionery. Grab n Go refreshments complemented by a self-service Lavazza coffee are available to those needing a quality caffeine boost; and for convenience an ABSA ATM is on-site.
Garth Ally and his wife, Dawn, have been in the fuel and retail industry for many years. Dawn has outstanding retail experience having worked as a Store Manager for Morkals for 10 years before becoming Regional Manager. Garth, on the other hand, has a mechanical background and having grown up on his father’s fuel forecourts, he gained all the experience he needed and was ready to take over the running of one of the filling stations when the time came. Garth and Dawn’s passion for the fuel and retail industry is personal and they have continued to improve and empower their community with the opening of this new FreshStop at Caltex Bell MT.
“Our customers and the Queenstown community are very excited about this development and we are doing our best to ensure that the site is always tidy and welcoming so that we maintain the already amazing relationship with our community. We also intend to build further ties, especially at grassroots level, and being a part of the FreshStop brand has given us the opportunity to achieve this,” says Garth.
The employees at FreshStop Bell MT operate as a family and every single staff member is given an opportunity for growth, which translates into community empowerment. “I have kept most of my staff because they are reliable. Many of them started as petrol attendants and due to their own hard work, one has moved up as a Merchandiser, another is a Stock Clerk and two have become Cashiers,” adds Garth.
