FreshStop at Caltex The Ranch officially opened its doors on 29 November 2018 on the N1 midway between Polokwane
ane and Mokopane in Limpopo. The upgraded store and fuel forecourt offers travellers, tourists and local residents the opportunity to grab a great Seattle Coffee, try out some Crispy Chicken or sink their teeth into a flame-grilled burger at the Grill to Go outlet. There’s also a Biltong Bar and Grab n Go section with a wide selection of snacks and refreshments such as fresh sandwiches, wraps, drinks and pies; if you prefer something lighter.
FreshStop, the fastest-growing and largest convenience retail brand in South Africa, has reached another milestone with the opening of FreshStop The Ranch, which is their 290th store in the national network. Jan de Beer and his business partner, Kirk Twine, are the Store Retailers and as the site was 20-years old, it was time for some fresh ideas and a new product offering for their customers. The Caltex fuel forecourt has also been upgraded and now features new pumps and the latest Caltex 20/20 imagery.
According to Jan de Beer who grew up in Mokopane, “Kirk and I had previously owned a Caltex service station in Mokopane but when this opportunity presented itself, we jumped at it. The new FreshStop store offers our customers everything – from fresh fruit and vegetables, a variety of grocery items and a Biltong Bar to a Grab n Go section with a wide selection of snacks and refreshments such as fresh sandwiches, drinks and pies”.
There is, of course, also great coffee to be had at the Seattle Coffee bar with Barista service and the food options include Crispy Chicken and Grill to Go outlets. An ABSA ATM is available on-site for additional convenience. “We are also known for our great service and the cleanliness of our bathrooms,” says de Beer. The FreshStop at Caltex site, which includes a Maxi’s Restaurant, employs a total staff complement of 91 people, almost all from the local community. “We are very proud of our team and excited about the opening. It is our chance to provide the best in service and product to travellers, commuters and locals,” adds de Beer.
