FreshStop welcomes the appointment of Thabiet Booley as Chief Executive Officer of Astron Energy.
Thabiet Booley brings a wealth of petroleum industry experience to bear, including over 24 years at Sasol where he most recently held the position of Senior Vice President, Portfolio Strategy and Sustainability.
Thabiet has taken over the reins at a pivotal and hugely exciting moment in the organisation’s 112-year history as Astron Energy gears up to rebrand key sites, including its service station network in South Africa and Botswana.
Astron Energy’s rebrand project is one of the most significant and exciting changes in the South African oil industry in three decades.
We are all looking forward to seeing how Astron Energy’s vibrant new corporate colours will translate on forecourts all across South Africa in the coming months.
Thabiet said: “Right now we are engaging and re-energizing our teams and strategic partners as we build a brand that’s in it for the long term, with our stated ambition to be the next biggest fuel brand in South Africa.” He thanked FreshStop for being a loyal and valued partner to Astron Energy.
Thabiet had a CEO-to-CEO meeting with Brian Coppin, Group CEO of Food Lover’s Market in early March where Brian welcomed Thabiet and committed to supporting both Thabiet, in his new role, the new Astron Energy Brand, and the Brand change process itself.
