FreshStop, the fastest growing 24-hour convenience retail store brand in South Africa, is making a difference in the lives of the local residents of Port Elizabeth with the opening of its 226th national store. Offering convenience shopping at affordable prices, FreshStop at Caltex Redstar store opened on Thursday, 28 July 2016 at 292 Durban Road in Port Elizabeth.
Previously an Engen site, the new Caltex site has been rebuilt according to the FreshStop standards to feature the latest 20/20 Caltex imagery with new pump tanks and canopies. “This is the first 24-hour convenience store in the area and it has been built to meet the community’s desire for convenient shopping, so it has been a long awaited development for the people,” explains Rafeeq Moosagie, the Store Retailer.
The store offers its customers an exciting range of fresh fruit and vegetables, grocery items, and Grab ‘n Go snacks such as freshly-made sandwiches, pies and refreshments. In addition, a self-service Lavazza Coffee machine offers amazing coffee. “The prices of our products are extremely affordable as the majority of the people in our area are low income earners. We care about their needs and have decided to maintain an affordable pricing philosophy for the benefit of all in this area,” adds Rafeeq.
Quite conveniently, the Traffic Department is located across the road and the store offers Aramex store-to-door courier and is also a Pargo pick-up point. “Our store offers a variety of products and services. We speak convenience, we give convenience and with our staff on hand to serve customers while they are filling up their tanks on the forecourt, the sky is our starting point,” says Rafeeq.
Rafeeq Moosagie’s passion for his community combined with his 15 years of fuel and retail industry experience has set him in place to deliver first class convenience to this community. “I am very excited about this opening and I cannot wait to see the promising future the FreshStop brand has to offer,” explains Rafeeq.
FreshStop Redstar’s aspiration for community building has inspired its employee make-up, who hail from the community and they have been trained extensively to ensure excellent customer service. “Our community is not a high income area but we intend to treat our clientele as the best there is,” adds Rafeeq.
