We are currently recruiting for the following position:
Position Description: Grocery Buyer
Summary of Responsibilities:
This position will be responsible for dealing with current listed suppliers, sourcing of new suppliers and negotiating with suppliers on price, range, product, delivery, content, labeling issues, promotions, advertising, rebates, listing fees, etc on a local and international basis.
Minimum Qualifications/Skills Needed:
- Minimum Qualification – Matric/Grade 12
- Grocery Retail Experience
- FMCG Foods related Experience essential
- At least 3 – 5 Years working experience as a foods related category buyer in the foods retail environment
- PC Literate

- Own Reliable Transport
- Go-getter attitude, Energetic and enthusiastic
- Great negotiator
- Able to be a hands-on operator
- High Energy Levels & a Passion for retail essential
- Must be Willing to work market/retail/flexible hours i.e.: some Saturdays/Sundays/Public Holidays/ Overtime
- FMCG Foods related Experience essential
- Attention to detail
- Have strong planning, organisational & negotiating skills
- Numeric Skills & a general understanding of basic financial management
- Have proven problem solving techniques
- Require minimum supervision
- Have exceptional negotiation and communication skills
- Be able to deliver according to strict deadlines
- Must be able to work on different projects at the same time for different brands, locally and internationally
- Teamwork is essential
