FreshStop, the largest and fastest-growing convenience retail brand in South Africa, continues to distinguish itself within the convenience retail industry with the opening of its latest FreshStop at Caltex Witbank Motors store as the 240th national store at Beatty Street, Witbank in Mpumalanga on Thursday, 3 November 2016.
Previously an unbranded store, FreshStop Witbank Motors has successfully been converted and the fuel forecourt has undergone a complete revamp with newly installed canopy, pillars, pump, tank installation, and billboards. “The store been extended and has been fully upgraded with new shopfitting and an on-site generator. With all of this in place, we can proudly say that have taken into consideration all that is needed to make customer convenience a reality. We are equally excited to be a part of the FreshStop brand and we are certain that our customers will be pleased with the variety of product offerings and the new and improved customer service,” explains Jatin Mahida, the Store Retailer.
The store offers Witbank residents, commuters and surrounding areas a great range of fresh fruit and vegetables, an assortment of grocery items, bakery products, burgers, sandwiches, wraps, lunch meals, confectionery, and beverages for their convenience and at affordable prices. Also available at FreshStop Witbank Motors is FreshStop’s very successful and delicious Crispy Chicken and Grill to Go outlets. The hot foods at the in-store Pitstop Café and the wide selection of Grab ‘n Go foods, topped off with a tasty cup of self-service Lavazza coffee will make the visit completely worthwhile. An ABSA ATM and spacious parking adds to the convenience on-site.
“As the water in Witbank is of such poor quality, we have undertaken to provide people with a healthy alternative. Therefore, Reverse Osmosis treated water is available in our store and is sold in 500ml, 1l, 1,5l and 5l containers. FreshStop at Caltex Witbank Motors, an oasis in the CBD area, is the only 24-hour store to offer food to customers throughout the night. We must also let all our Muslim customers know that we source our products from Halaal suppliers,” says Jatin.
Jatin Mahida hails from the banking sector, where he worked for FNB in Finance, HR and Analytics over a 10-year period. However, Jatin is not new to the forecourt retail business as he also owns the Caltex Boksburg site, which happens to be one of the biggest. “I am beyond happy! More so as FreshStop is very proud to be associated with Witbank and its upgrade and the brand commits to delivering unsurpassed service and the highest quality of food,” explains Jatin.
At FreshStop Witbank Motors, community empowerment is integral to the business as evidenced with the employment of residents, thereby creating new breadwinners in the locale. “We have increased staff complement by 25% and have hired eight new staff members from local communities,” adds Jatin.
We wish Jatin and his entire team all the best for the opening of this 240th FreshStop at Caltex Witbank Motors store.
FreshStop, named International Convenience Retailer of the Year 2013, is South Africa’s fastest growing 24-hour convenience store brand and has a network of 240 stores countrywide.
