Since the outbreak of COVID-19, FreshStop has not been able to make use of training facilities for trainees. As a result, Rory Johnson has been instrumental in developing online training materials that FreshStop colleagues can watch at any time to improve their skills set.
“We have put together more than 18 YouTube videos that cover training for various areas within the store, from Crispy Chicken to Pitstop Café. It is a great option to use as it really provides our teams with the tools they need to better their day-to-day functions,” says Rory Johnson, National Food Trainer.
The FreshStop WhatsApp Food group has been another successful platform. With an audience of more than 280 people, the group is used to share ideas as well as showcase great food and capture special moments with customer engagement and much more.
More recently, Customer Service training for food handlers was launched, with more than 80 delegates attending online. Trainees completed tests and received attendance certificates and an improvement in service levels has already been experienced at store level. “When I visit stores, I can feel the excitement and drive from our amazing staff. I thank everyone for attending the training. We will continue to give store staff awesome training and we will do this via our virtual
platforms,” explains Rory.
