Motorists in the busy commuter and business hub of Sandton are now able to fill up faster and fresher before getting back on the road and grab a great Seattle coffee. The FreshStop at Caltex Witkoppen Motors opened its newly renovated and modernised site at 2 Pieter Wenning Road (on the corner with William Nicol Drive) in Sandton on 6 July 2017. Not only has the old Star Mart store been replaced with the latest FreshStop offering but the forecourt has also been completely refurbished.
“The old pumps have been replaced with seven new Prowalco Icon (South African manufactured) high-speed dispensers. It is estimated that these dispensers will fill cars approximately three times faster than the old pumps. We have also increased the number of dispensers and now offer all products at all islands,” enthuses Brendan Robinson, Store Retailer.
Previously a Chartered Accountant in the mining sector, Brendan decided to work more closely with his parents, who have been retailers on this site since 1996, and join the family-owned business. “My family took over the site when Witkoppen was still an outpost and we have seen first-hand the significant development in this area. My parents’ home was one of the first houses in Lone Hill when it was still a farm in the 1980’s and we are committed to staying in the area,” says Brendan.
As the 256th store in the national network, FreshStop Witkoppen Motors offers a range of fresh fruit and vegetables, a selection of grocery items and a Grab n Go section for fresh sandwiches, pies, salads, smoothies, and snacks. The most exciting offering is the new Seattle Coffee Bar that serves great coffee and drinks – perfectly positioned for the residents of Beverley, Lone Hill, Dainfern, Witkoppen and Fourways Gardens to pop in for their daily coffee fix. There is also an on-site Nedbank ATM and car wash for that added convenience factor. In addition, the site offers trailer sales, services, and rentals.
“We are proud to have been able to create six new jobs, most of who are from Diepsloot, who are now part of our 32-employee team. Some of our longest serving staff have been with us for 20 years and are dedicated to providing great service.
After being closed for three months for the renovations, we are extremely excited to open our site. Our family has serviced this site for the last 20 years and we cannot wait to get back to business,” adds Brendan.
