Caltex invested close to R16 million in building this new site, the biggest such investment in the Western region to date, and it boasts the latest in technology, pumps and branding. According to Andre Rademan, the Store Retailer, “We feel very positive about this new journey and we’re excited to be able to offer our local residents and business people a brand new FreshStop store and Caltex fuel forecourt. We have a state-of-the-art convenience shopping experience to offer that includes great Lavazza coffee and a deli that serves an assortment of hot foods. The store has a range of fresh fruit and vegetables, a selection of grocery items, flowers and meats. We also have a full-kitchen with a bakery on-site that produces fresh pies, cakes and confectionery.” In addition the site offers Standard Bank and FNB ATMs.
Andre, who was recently elected the new President of Eastern Province Rugby, runs the business with his wife Carol. “We are partners in everything we do – life and business,” explains Andre.
The opening of FreshStop at Caltex George Motors, the 255th store in the FreshStop national network, has ensured that many employees were able to retain their positions and continue their years of employment with Andre and Carol. In addition, six new jobs were created, bringing the staff complement to 34 employees. “Our customer can look forward to a much improved product offering and friendly service”, adds Andre.
We wish Andre, Carol and their entire team all the best for the opening of this 255th FreshStop at Caltex George Motors store.
FreshStop, named International Convenience Retailer of the Year 2013 and finalist of the 2017 International Convenience Retailer of the Year Award, is South Africa’s fastest growing 24-hour convenience store brand and has a network of 255 stores countrywide.
