Job Summary:
A Deli or Bakery Clerk arranges, prepares, serves and stocks bakery and deli food products to customers while maintaining high standards of safety and sanitation.
Responsibilities:
- Prepared bakery and deli items
- Offload deli products and transfer stock to storage areas
- Sliced, cut, weighed, and priced stock in a considerate manner
- Upheld shelves and maintain cases filled at all times
- Maintain courteous and friendly attitude toward customers
- Control freshness by rotating and coding all products and remove out-of-code merchandise
- Tag all products legibly in line with a price book
- Maintain fresh items and weekly specials
- Promote latest items and weekly specials
- Greet all visitors and customers in a professional manner
- Clean and sanitise the entire work area
- Answer phone and take orders for particular requested items
- Abide by all business policies as the state in the worker handbook
Requirements:
- Minimum Qualification – Matric/Grade 12

- Good Communication skills
- Able to handle accounts and cash efficiently
- Professional attitude
- Perfect attention to detail
