This Caltex service station has a long and proud history on the South Coast and has served untold numbers of locals and visitors over the years. The brand new FreshStop store has been warmly welcomed by the local community as part of the upliftment and development in and around Margate. According to Adnaan Moosa, the Store Retailer, “The site has undergone a complete revamp and has been rebuilt to establish a new Lifestyle Centre for Manaba Beach, Margate that includes a 400m2 craft centre, 800m2 car dealership showroom and a number of other retail outlets. The Caltex fuel forecourt now also boasts four pump islands to service the busy seaside beach community”.
As the 54th FreshStop store to open in KwaZulu-Natal, FreshStop Margate offers residents and tourists a variety of fresh fruit and vegetables, a wide selection of grocery items and freshly baked pies, sandwiches and confectionery. The store features a variety of Grab n’ Go refreshments, hot foods at the Pitstop Café and a Crispy Chicken outlet and a full-service Seattle Coffee bar with Barista to serve customers great coffee. All these great food offerings can then be enjoyed at the on-site alfresco dining area – a great space to relax, take a break or meet up with friends.
“We are super excited that we have a Crispy Chicken outlet on-site and it’s already proving to be a huge success with the locals who are recognising it as a tasty meal option for the whole family. In early-2017, we’ll be introducing an ATM banking mall and an even bigger selection of fresh, quality fruit and vegetables on their doorstep 24/7.
“We are a Green Seal service station and we comply with international best practices for safety and hygiene throughout our business; and our water harvesting programme provides much needed water resources for the SPCA on the South Coast. We are very grateful for the excellent support we have received and the excitement shown by our customers when they pop by in the morning and evening rush hours for their coffee from our Seattle Coffee bar has put a smile on all our faces,” says Adnaan.
Adnaan Moosa, whose family has traded on the South Coast area for over 40 years, obtained his Honours degree from the University of Cape Town and is a seasoned professional with experience in the fuel and retail industry. “Customers can look forward to outstanding service, convenient shopping experience and budget beating deals to keep them energised with our fresh, fast and fabulous experience”.
Jobs have been created for close to 60 new employees from the local community, all of whom were previously unemployed. “We specifically wanted to uplift those who were capable but due to various reasons were unable to find work. Also, our management team includes a mix of experienced and young people and through our operations internship we offer young people a comprehensive business management programme,” adds Adnaan.
