Astron Energy, a leading fuel company in South Africa, has announced the renewal of its partnership with FreshStop, the country’s foremost forecourt retail brand. The 10-year extension solidifies a successful 15-year collaboration between the two entities, marking a significant milestone in South Africa’s retail landscape.

With a retail network spanning over 800 service stations nationwide, Astron Energy has been a pivotal player in the fuel industry. This extension reaffirms their commitment to providing quality service and innovative offerings to consumers across the country.

Astron Energy’s General Manager of Retail and Marketing, Farouk Farista, expressed enthusiasm about the continued partnership, stating, “Our strategic alliance with FreshStop dates back to 2009, and we are pleased to extend this partnership for a further 10 years. This signifies the trust and value we place in the FreshStop offering and also speaks to Astron Energy’s long-term commitment to investing in our network and the future of the country.”

Brian Coppin, CEO of the Food Lover’s Market Group, parent company of FreshStop, emphasized the positive impact of the partnership on the retail landscape. “Over the last 15 years, with an investment of over R830 million, the Freshstop brand has become synonymous with innovative 24-hour convenience. This continued winning partnership with Astron Energy will ensure that we can continue to grow our ever-expanding footprint, offering over 200,000 daily South African customers incredible value, variety, and a world-class forecourt experience.”

FreshStop CEO Joe Boyle echoed the sentiments, highlighting the significant achievements and job creation resulting from the partnership. “We are delighted with the extended agreement. The partnership has created 7000 new jobs, and we’ve successfully established Crispy Chicken, Sausage Saloon, Grill to Go, and Seattle Coffee as popular food and beverage brands within our stores.”
